CNMEU is in the process of bargaining all contracts. Given the improved budget at state level and savings that admin has admitted to, each unit is seeking increased compensation. ISU and faculty have been patient, for years, with declining real wages. Last night, the Governing Board announced a 1% raise for staff, Maintenance and Security. They also admitted that a similar amount is reserved for faculty and ISU pending negotiations.
Admin is trying to preempt valid negotiations by making the GB move.
